Welcome in my tiny house

In this post I’d like to show you around in mijn tiny house. I live in this little cabin on wheels since more than a year. And I’ve been very consistent about this: I moved all my stuff in here. I could have left some clothes, books or other stuff in my partners house, but that would be cheating. If you want to live tiny, you have to mean it…

What attracted me in living in a tiny house is the fact that you have to de-clutter. You have to make drastic choices about what you want to keep and what has to go. I was inspired by the Konmari method, by the Japanese Marie Kondo.
If you ever want to drasticaly declutter and tidy all your stuff, check her name on the internet!

My tiny house has a kitchenette, a table and a seating area. This living space is seperated from the bathroom with a door. Above the bathroom and a part of the kitchinette there’s a sleeping area.

Below some pictures and a film at the bottom:

The seating area. On the left a bookshelf. The seats consist of storage space with a mattress and a few cushions. The little white table is also a storage space and can be moved away under the seat on the right.
The seating area viewed from above. On the left the front door behind the bordeaux curtain.
From the seating area you can see the kitchenette on the right, the folding table at the left and the sleeping loft at the top.
Same view but with the folding table closed and the ladder placed sideways against the wall. As a result, you now see the door to the bathroom in the middle on the back. To the left of that door is a large cupboard for ‘everything’.
View on the sleeping loft.
My tiny bathroom with a small bath on the left and a rack on top of the cupboard in which the water heater is located.
To the left of the small bath is the sink. The compost toilet will be placed on the left of the sink.
This is my tiny wardrobe in the bathroom: 50cm wide, 60cm deep and 190cm high. Here are all my clothes, summer and winter clothes! Except for my coats, hat, scarf and gloves …

  2. Thanks! And yes, I have everything I need here, in a house of only 20m². It makes me wonder what else I was collecting in my previous homes…
