Almost…

Tomorrow will be the start of my challenge! From tomorrow on, for one whole year, I will not buy any stuff. What do I mean with ‘stuff’?

Maybe it’s easier to tell you what I still can buy:
– food for myself and my cats
– medication
– fuel for the car
– occasional presents for friends or family (although I prefer to pay them dinner for their birthday)
– any stuff I need for my job (more about that later)
– toiletries: this will mostly be toothpaste, since I make my own deodorant (I’ll write about that later) and I don’t use any products for my hair (more about poo-free living later); I also don’t use any make-up. So if I open the cabinet in the bathroom, I only see toothpaste as an article I will have to renew and maybe some handsoap.
– one pair of trousers and a few panties. I only have one decent pair of trousers for the winter and I just had to throw out some panties I wore until they were realy completely worn out. I wanted to buy this all in december, but in january we have winter sales, so I decided to wait until january. These panties and trousers will be the only clothes I will buy.
– euhm… Well, that’s about it! Off course we will continue maintaining our car and my bike and I will pay my monthly bills of water, electricity, internet and mobile phone. But these are services, not so much ‘stuff’.

So, none of this…

So, no clothes, no books and no e-books, no clutter, no designer objects (I never fancied these anyway), no handy kitchenstuff, no cute decoration,…

I will also tell my family and friends not to give me any stuff for my birthday or for next years Christmas and New Year. Pay me dinner, take me on a nice trip, but don’t give me stuff.

This one might become unemployed this year!

Right now I feel pretty confident. I know, a year is a long time for a challenge like this. But since I have been living in a tiny house since a little more than a year now, I preceive myself as someone who doesn’t need much. I don’t remember buying much ‘stuff’ the last year, except from some stuff for my kitchen (mostly things you can use to keep leftovers fresh without using plastic foil or any other disposable material and coton bags to buy fresh fruits and vegetables) and some toys and a feeder for my cats.

So somehow I think this could be easy. And I know: I might be in for a big surprise B-)
So I am very curious how I will experience 2019!

Well, now it’s time to start celebrating new year’s eve. And lett the challenge begin tomorrow!
